Account and Data Deletion

How to ask us to delete your Leadhand account and personal data, what is deleted, what we have to keep, and how long it takes.

Last updated 10 July 2026

You can ask us to delete your Leadhand account and the personal information associated with it at any time. This page explains how to make that request, what we delete, what we are required to keep, and how long the process takes. It should be read with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

How to request deletion

Leadhand does not currently have a self-serve “delete account” button in the app. To request deletion, email us from the address on your account at support@leadhand.com.au with the subject line “Account deletion request” and your business name. If you are a member of a team account rather than the owner, ask your account owner to make the request, or tell us and we will verify your identity before acting on it.

We ask you to request deletion by email (rather than in the app) so we can verify it is really you, or the account owner, asking - this protects your business data from being deleted by mistake or by someone else.

What we delete

Once we have verified your request, we delete or de-identify:

  • your account profile - name, email address, phone number and login credentials;
  • client, job, quote, schedule, photo, form and note records stored in your Leadhand account;
  • usage data and device information linked to your account; and
  • any other personal information we hold about you that we are not required to keep by law.

What we keep, and why

Australian law requires businesses to keep certain financial records for a minimum period, generally five years, even after an account closes. Where deleting a record would mean losing information we are legally required to retain, we keep the minimum we need to, for as long as the law requires, and delete the rest. In practice this means:

  • Invoices, quotes and other financial records tied to a business account may be retained for tax and accounting compliance, even where the account itself is deleted;
  • billing and payment recordsheld by our payment provider, Stripe, are subject to Stripe's own retention requirements; and
  • information we need to keep briefly for security, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes, or because we are required to by law or a regulator.

Retained records are kept only for these purposes, are not used for anything else, and are deleted once the relevant retention period ends. This mirrors the retention approach described in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

If you are a client of a Leadhand customer (a trade business that uses Leadhand to manage its jobs) rather than a Leadhand account holder yourself, the business you dealt with controls that data. Contact them directly, or contact us and we will help route your request.

How long it takes

We aim to action verified deletion requests within 30 days. Deletion of records we are legally required to retain (see above) happens automatically once the applicable retention period ends, not on request.

Before you delete

Deletion is permanent. We recommend exporting anything you want to keep before you ask us to delete your account - see the data export section of our Terms of Service. If you only want to cancel your subscription rather than delete your data, see our Refund and Cancellation Policy instead.
